December 2009 Newsletter

While the run up to the festive season can be busy and stressful, I
find that the period between Christmas and New Year is a great time
for rest, renewal and reflection. You might want to ask yourself a
few questions to help your reflections:

  - What do I want to celebrate about this year? What I am most I proud
  of?
  - What have I learnt? What were some of the biggest 'shifts' for me?
  - What do I want to let go of at the end of this year and what am I
embracing as I head into 2010?

So, I wish you all a wonderful holiday period - in the New Year, I'll
send a longer email with information about some up-coming workshops
that I'll be running in the spring. But I'd like to end this email
with this gift of wonderful poem by Derek Walcott - it describes what
I want for all my clients, friends, colleagues and myself - that we
can greet ourselves arriving with elation.

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

With love and laughter,
